I chose Sleps because I wanted to visit Augsburg Cathedral, and its location in the historic center was perfect. The reception at Sleps was open daily until 12:30 am, which was a pleasant surprise. I also enjoyed the availability of a bar/lounge, a coffee shop/cafe, and self-parking at this smoke-free hostel. The free continental breakfast every morning was a nice touch, and the terrace provided a great place to relax.
At check-in, there was a short wait as there was no receptionist at the desk and no bell to be noticed. The receptionist focused on a phone call before acknowledging my presence.

I was delighted with the warm and inviting atmosphere of the hostel. The décor was charming, with cozy seating areas and beautiful artwork that created a homely feel. As a senior, I appreciated how accessible the hostel was for people of all ages. The common areas were spacious and well-lit, making it easy for me to move around and relax without any trouble.
I would have loved to see more activities or amenities specifically tailored to seniors. Perhaps some gentle exercise classes or a dedicated relaxation area would have made this a truly perfect vacation for older guests.

The location of the hostel is excellent, with most of the tourist sights within a short walking distance. the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful advice and assistance. the breakfast is of high quality and varied, providing a good start to the day. the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, with some offering nice views and equipped with everything you may need.
Parking space is limited and not guaranteed, so it can be challenging to find a spot, especially if you arrive late.

I chose to stay at Sleps because I really wanted to visit the Fugger and Welser interactive museum, which was just a short walk away. But I was pleasantly surprised by the reception being open until 12:30 am, making it convenient for late check-ins. Additionally, I really enjoyed the free continental breakfast and the option to relax on the terrace or at the coffee shop.
Hallways can get noisy at night.

I recently stayed at Sleps for a few nights while backpacking. The single rooms with balconies were a pleasant surprise, offering a quiet and cozy space. The staff, made up of vibrant young people, were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hostel-style breakfast was surprisingly hearty and satisfying. The location, although a bit far from the station, was peaceful and allowed for a good night's sleep. Sleps provided excellent value and a comfortable experience.
I recommend this hotel.

The rooms were really nice and clean, perfect for two people! The breakfast had a good variety, with gluten-free options available. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the city center. Staff was very helpful and gave great recommendations for German restaurants.
Parking was a bit of a problem as there were limited spaces and no free parking offered. The surrounding area didn't have many alternatives either.

I really liked the warm and cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The decoration had a charming vintage touch that made me feel right at home. The common areas were well-maintained and comfortable, making it easy for me to relax and mingle with other guests. , the hotel was easily accessible for us seniors, with spacious hallways and ramps for those with mobility issues. It was a delightful place to stay.
I wish the children working there were more knowledgeable about parking options in the surrounding area. It would have been helpful if they could have provided some guidance or suggestions for alternative parking spots nearby.

The hostel's central location in Augsburg's historic center allowed me to easily explore the city on foot, just like a curious traveler from back in the old days. The multilingual staff at the hostel were more than happy to assist me with any questions I had, making me feel like a local who was truly taken care of.- The private balcony in my room provided a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee, feeling like a VIP enjoying a luxurious morning in my own little balcony cafe.- The hostel's connection to the nearby tram and bus stop made it incredibly convenient for me to travel around the city, almost like having a personal chauffeur there at my service.
The hallways can get a bit noisy at times, making it slightly challenging for light sleepers like me, but the signs reminding people about quiet hours definitely helped.

The rooms at Hostel Sleps are fantastic! They have everything you need - a comfy bed, a private bathroom with a hairdryer, and even a satellite TV. Plus, some rooms have a private balcony, which is perfect for enjoying the view. As a guest, I felt really at home and cozy in these rooms.
I personally didn't like that the rooms at Hostel Sleps didn't have free WiFi. But hey, that's just my opinion.

the breakfast was excellent, far better than the typical continental breakfast you find in American hotels. the staff, especially the receptionist at check out, went out of their way to help me with my heavy luggage, which was greatly appreciated since I had an injured hand. the location of the hotel is also very convenient, as it is near the historic downtown area and the Lech river, which offers great jogging opportunities on a hike/bike trail along the river. Cons: Nothing bad to say 😊.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
